IWE keeps agent-assisted writing reviewable. Draft on a branch, inspect proposed changes, and decide what enters the document.
Tabs, open editors, and the file tree
Documents open in tabs that stay alive: switching tabs is instant, and every open editor keeps its undo history, scroll position, and unsaved edits. Drag tabs to reorder; right-click for Close, Close Others, or Close All. On desktop, Ctrl+Tab cycles and Cmd/Ctrl+1–9 jumps.
The sidebar shows an Open Editors section above the tree, and folders nest recursively — a book, series, or project organizes like a file explorer. Clicking a document in the tree opens it as a tab without reloading the editor.
Inline diffs, branches, and checkpoints
Agent proposals appear as inline diffs: insertions and deletions are shown against the current draft before they are applied. Review the change in place, then accept or dismiss it.
A branch is a parallel draft path. A checkpoint is a named point you can return to while exploring a revision. The revision graph is the ancestry view that connects documents, branches, and checkpoints so you can see where a draft came from.
To create a branch, use the branch menu or the plus button in the editor header and choose Create draft branch. Enter a unique name (not main), then create it. Skraib saves the active draft first, creates the new branch from that active branch’s current content and revision head, and switches you to the new branch.
Accepted changes remain writer-controlled: an agent can propose text, but only your review action applies it. Snapshots are immutable, so later edits do not rewrite the historical state you reviewed.
Problems panel
The Problems panel gathers writing issues that need attention while you work, such as continuity gaps, repeated phrasing, or a pending citation. Select a problem to return to the relevant passage; it is a diagnostic view, not an automatic edit queue.
Merge review
When a branch is ready to bring back, merge review compares it with its shared ancestry and the current draft. Review the resulting changes and resolve any conflicts before applying them. The review keeps the full writing context visible instead of treating a branch as an opaque replacement.
